NSO Group appoints Asher Levy as Executive Chairman

Tel Aviv, 6th April 2020: NSO Group, a leading technology developer that licenses software solutions to governments and law enforcement agencies to investigate and prevent terror acts, fight crime, and increase public safety, has appointed Asher Levy as Executive Chairman.  Mr Levy will work closely with CEO and Co-Founder Shalev Hulio, NSO’s broader management team and its Board of Directors to support the further growth of the Company. His appointment was approved by the Board earlier this year and commenced formally on April 1, 2020.

Asher Levy was the CEO of Orbotech from 2013 until 2019,  leading it from a market capitalization of approximately $360 million until its sale to KLA-Tencor for $3.4 billion in 2019.   Mr Levy has a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management from Ben-Gurion University, and an MBA from Tel Aviv University. He is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program of the Harvard Business School.‎

“NSO helps governments cope with one of today’s most formidable challenges – preventing terrorism and crime that hide behind encryption technology,” said Asher Levy. “I plan to work hand in hand with NSO’s management to continue developing solutions that respond to this challenge, which is becoming more and more complex, both organically and through M&As. NSO is not only at the forefront of technology in its field, but is also a leader in the cybertechnology sector in terms of corporate governance. NSO is the first company in its field to align its governance with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, thus becoming a model for the industry. I plan to support NSO’s management to continue operating according to its strict ethical and corporate governance framework, while also helping management and our excellent employees to make the world a safer place,” he added. “And, speaking about a safer world, I am proud to be part of a company whose people joined forces in record time to save lives by quickly developing an analytics system that helps curb the spread of COVID-19, and better manage its impact on the economy.”

“I am very happy to welcome Asher Levy to NSO,” said Shalev Hulio. “His rich managerial experience and business achievements will contribute greatly to the further growth of the company. NSO has reached significant milestones in the development of innovative technologies that help countries save lives while combating terrorism and preventing crime,” he added. “Another proof of our extraordinary capabilities is the development of an innovative analytics solution that is helping decision makers combat the Coronavirus while helping the economy return to normal operation without harming individual privacy,” he added. “I am sure that Asher will be an invaluable asset to our company, helping us become even stronger in responding to the challenges of the future.
